At Mountain Vista United Methodist Church, we seek to be a place where people can simply be who God created them to be. We hope this is a community where those who feel lost, overlooked, weary, or alone discover that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
As you explore our website, let me introduce myself. I have the privilege of serving as the pastor of this remarkable congregation. But if you’re new here, you’re not alone. I’m new too—both to Mountain Vista and to the state of Utah.
Since arriving, I’ve been discovering the story of this church: where it has been, who it is today, and who God is calling it to become. I’d love to share a little of what I’ve found, and perhaps together we can continue discovering what makes this community so special.
What has struck me most is that Mountain Vista is a church shaped by relationships. The warmth people extend to one another isn’t reserved for longtime members or Sunday mornings. It is woven into the life of this congregation. Here, differences are not something to be overlooked or erased. Instead, they are embraced as part of the beautiful diversity of God’s creation, reflected in each unique and beloved child of God.
That spirit extends well beyond worship. Throughout the week, our building is filled with people gathering, serving, learning, supporting one another, and caring for our neighbors. There is a deep commitment to this community, along with an exciting sense that God is still inviting us to grow, to serve, and to imagine new ways of sharing Christ’s love with the world around us.
Whether you have a lifelong faith, more questions than answers, or are simply curious about what church can be, you are welcome to explore alongside us. Whenever you’re ready, we’d be honored to meet you, worship with you, and walk together in faith.
