Support in Worship

Worship is made possible by many people sharing their gifts of time and talent. Whether you enjoy being up front, working behind the scenes, or offering hospitality, there are opportunities for everyone to participate. If you would like to learn more about any of these opportunities or volunteer to serve, please contact the church office. We’d be delighted to help you find a place to share your gifts.

Liturgist
Liturgists help lead worship by reading Scripture, leading the Call to Worship, offering prayers, and assisting with other portions of the service. No previous experience is necessary—we’re happy to help you get started.

Tech Booth
Help support our worship service by running the soundboard and other audio equipment. Training is provided, and no prior experience is required. Volunteers are scheduled as available and are not expected to serve every Sunday.

Musicians
Do you sing or play an instrument? We are always looking for new musicians to help lead worship. Whether you have years of experience or are looking for a way to share your musical gifts, we would love to hear from you. You can learn more about our music ministry on our Music page or contact the church office for more information.

Fellowship Hospitality
Our fellowship time after worship is an important part of our community life. Volunteers are needed to help set up, clean up, and occasionally bring refreshments. A sign-up sheet is available in the Fellowship Hall, or you may contact the church office if you would like to help.

Offering Stewards
Volunteers are welcome to assist with receiving the offering during worship. No special experience is needed—just a willingness to serve.

Acolytes
Acolytes help begin and end worship by carrying the light of Christ. Youth and older children are especially encouraged to serve, but people of all ages are welcome.

Communion Assistants
On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Holy Communion. Volunteers are invited to assist in serving the elements during worship.

Support Through Leadership

The ministry of Mountain Vista United Methodist Church is shaped by faithful leaders who prayerfully guide our mission, care for our resources, and help our congregation grow in discipleship. If you have gifts for leadership, administration, organization, finance, hospitality, or simply a heart for serving God’s church, we invite you to consider serving in a leadership role.

To learn more about our leadership teams and committees, download our handbook below, which describes the purpose and responsibilities of each ministry. If you are interested in serving or would like help discerning where your gifts might best be used, please contact the church office or speak with Pastor Matthew. We’d love to help you find a place to serve.
